In fulfilling its objectives of promoting and developing its members in music , the Association of the Porto Cavaquinho Group runs from September to June of each year, a School of Cavaquinhos. Teaching is held by musical director of the Ports Cavaquinho Group, Carlos Alberto Oliveira. The School has dozens of students of all ages (from grandparents to grandchildren ...) in two levels of instruction: Beginner and Advanced. These are held on Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon, the installations provided by Porto's Catholic Association. In the future it could be possible to teach other cordofones used in Portuguese music tradition as Viola Braguesa or Bandolim.
